Windmills

Stow Mill, Paston Norfolk
Stow Mill, Paston

North Norfolk could be described as 'windmill country' with many of these milling relics now being renovated and opened to the public as working examples of a bygone age, or as museums. Like Sutton Mill, Britain's tallest windmill. Its nine floors crammed with old kitchen equipment, woodworking tools, cigarette packets, wartime memorabilia and much, much more.

Built in 1789, the, windmill has been sympathetically restored and contains some of the finest corn-milling equipment housed In the area - large Iron wheels, sets of millstones, there's even a sack hoist. And the view from the very top, outside stage of the mill takes in Hickling Broad, Horsey Mere and the coastline! You'll find other windmills at Stow, Worstead and on the road to Sea Palling.
